Looking to expand your homesteading skills? Whether you’re part of a homeschool group, a youth organization, or simply eager to learn, Teez Farms has two engaging poultry experiences waiting for you. With just a three-week notice, we can accommodate your event.
Teez Farms presents two unique poultry courses:
Introduction to Chickens
This course is tailored for all audiences, covering various topics such as the journey from egg to chick, chick to chicken, or a comprehensive overview from egg to chicken. Each session equips participants with essential knowledge to care for poultry at any life stage. Prices start at $10 per person, with a minimum of 10 attendees.
Table Chickens: From Coop to Plate
In this interactive workshop, each participant will have the opportunity to dispatch their own chicken. The discussion will cover both planned and unplanned dispatch methods, safety protocols, necessary equipment, plucking, and gutting techniques. Participants will learn how to identify which parts to keep or discard, as well as packaging methods, including ice baths, quality control, and vacuum sealing. By the end of this session, attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of the chicken preparation process for consumption. The class lasts 75-90 minutes, accommodates a maximum of 10 participants, and costs $100 per person (which includes one fresh chicken).
Gardening Classes
Introduction to Gardening 101
Get ready to play in the dirt! This course is all about letting kids explore the exciting world of crafting mud pies that help different plants flourish, as long as the soil is perfectly balanced. Each young gardener will bring a sandwich bag of dirt from home to test its planting potential. They’ll learn how seeds germinate in healthy soil and practice transplanting seedlings. Plus, they’ll have the chance to take their plants home and track their growth!

Introduction to Soap Making
Immerse yourself in the captivating history of soap while gaining a foundational understanding of its chemistry. Each participant will have the opportunity to customize their soap creation with distinctive scents and colors, utilizing a personal silicone mold.The price is $20 for each individual, and we require at least 6 participants.
Soap Making 201
Engage in a hands-on soap-making adventure by meticulously following a comprehensive recipe. This course introduces the use of a soap calculator, the artistry of crafting essential oil fragrances, and the intricate process of blending lye with liquids, among other essential techniques. Each participant will depart with a beautifully crafted loaf of soap. The cost is $75 for each person, and at least 4 attendees.
Soap Making 202
Elevate your skills as you design your own soap recipe, gaining invaluable experience in the craft of soap making. Participants will explore the incorporation of vegetable purees and milks into the lye mixture, learn to expertly navigate a soap calculator, create unique essential oil blends, and master the art of lye and liquid combination, among other advanced techniques. Each student will leave with a complete loaf of soap. The price is $100 for each individual, with a requirement of at least 4 participants.
